Best for bikes

Hangzhou topped the list of the world’s best bike-sharing cities, according to USA Today newspaper.

Hangzhou was followed by Paris and Wuhan, capital city of Hubei Province, in the ranking of 16 cities.

Hangzhou won the top spot based on the criteria of scale, usage, convenience and cost of its public bike system.

About 250,000 people use the bikes every day, and bike rental stations can be found near bus stops, Metro stations and ferries across the city.

Hangzhou launched the program in 2008. Now there are nearly 3,000 rental stations with 70,000 bikes. The number of bikes will reach 175,000 by 2020.
