Big plans for Metro

BY 2022, Hangzhou plans to invest 140 billion yuan (US$22.2 billion) in a project to expand the city’s Metro system, according to a message posted on the website of the Zhejiang Development and Reform Commission, the province’s top planning body.
This plan will involve the creation of five new lines, as well as expansions of lines 4 and 5, according to the notice.
The commission invited 12 experts from around the country to review its Metro construction plans before submitting them to the central government for approval.
