THE Public Library, School Library and Rural Library Service and Social Education International Conference was held at Hangzhou Library recently. Its theme was "Libraries as Community Education Centers."
United States library professionals - Barbara J Ford, the director of Mortenson Center for International Library Programs, in Illinois, and Luiz Herrera, the curator of San Francisco Public Library - addressed the conference.
Some 300 library managers, scholars and educators from libraries around the world attended.
