With its six carriages painted to different colors corresponding to six different themes 鈥 children, romance, wuxia (martial heroes鈥 adventure), sci-fi, detective stories and history 鈥 excerpts from popular books will be displayed inside the carriages to entertain commuters.
There鈥檚 also a WeChat QR code that will generate a personal reading-themed poster 鈥 fun stuff to share on your WeChat moments.
One Metro Group official said the introduction of the train is to promote reading among Hangzhou citizens and strengthen the city鈥檚 cultural image.
Other than the train, there are also reading corners set up in seven stations, including Qiangjiang Road, Wulin Gate, and Gucui Road.
Free stamp albums will also be given out in those stations, for you to collect colorful stamps, which can be used for weibo interactions to win commemorative Chinese zodiac Metro tickets.
If you scan the QR code in the reading corners, 66 free e-books are available for you to read on the go.
