Bridge opening
THE Zhijiang Bridge over the Qiantang River will put to use by the end of this month, connecting Binjiang and Zhijiang areas on both sides. The bridge will also allow cars from Qiandao Lake, Tonglu and Fuyang to have a faster access to downtown Hangzhou.
The six-lane bridge is designed with a speed limit of 80km an hour and will collect toll fees from motor vehicles. Details about toll charges will be announced later. Pedestrians, cyclists and moped riders can cross the bridge free of charge. The bridge has four elevators for pedestrians and cyclists.
