Bus Wi-Fi upgrade
Free and faster Wi-Fi service will be available on 4,000 buses in downtown Hangzhou from August, Hangzhou Bus Corporation said.
Right now, free Wi-Fi service is only available on buses operating on Line No. 7, 156 and B1. Passengers often complain about slow speed and troublesome login process.
Poor Wi-Fi signal in buses is a complaint heard even in Beijing, Guangzhou and other cities. Hangzhou Bus Corporation is the first one to work on an upgrade. Passengers will no longer need to log-in every time while its bandwidth will be 8Gbps. The company will also upgrade wireless hotspots at 100 bus stops next year. So far, 339 bus stops in Hangzhou have Wi-Fi signal.
