Bus rules approved
HANGZHOU city regulations on bus management were approved by the local People's Congress recently. This stipulates that bus staff must turn on the air conditioning when the temperature inside the vehicle is more than 28 degrees Celsius, and provide heating when it falls below 10 degrees.
The regulations also rule that passengers shall not take pets, such as dogs and cats, onto buses - with exceptions for guide dogs.
In addition, pre-school children must be companied by adults.
And the regulations state that the city will set up bus lanes allowing them to drive against traffic on one-way streets.
