Canadian office

The Canadian government has opened a trade office in Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang province, with the goal of boosting high-tech cooperation with Chinese firms.

Guy Saint-Jacques, Canadian ambassador to China, said on August 28 that the new office, along with other trade offices, will help promote Canada’s trade and investment in China.

Hangzhou is home to many successful private companies including Alibaba. It is also a center for entrepreneurship and high technology, he said. China is Canada’s second-largest trade partner. Canada has nine other trade offices in the country including Chengdu, Nanjing, Qingdao, Shenyang, Shenzhen and Wuhan.
