THE reform on public-funded official cars, started in May 2009, completed recently. All officials of Hangzhou municipal government will no longer be designated with their own official cars; instead, they will be receiving transportation stipends.
As compensation, municipal officials will receive a transportation stipend for their travels within Hangzhou. According to their official levels, the stipends have nine ranks from 300 yuan to 2,600 yuan per month.
