Cartoon festival

THE 13th China International Cartoon and Animation Festival will open on April 26 at Baima Lake Animation Plaza in Binjiang District.

CICAF will have exhibitions, forums, a trade fair, auctions and competitions. Baima Lake is the main venue, with special events for UK cartoonists, Taiwanese comic artist Zhu Deyong, and an MIPTV trade fair from Cannes.

The festival has 16 venues across the city, including the China Academy of Art, Zhejiang Media College, Zhongshan Road Creative Street, and Hangzhou Youth Development Center.

The festival is also available online and via smartphones.

The six-day CICAF was first held in 2005, backed by the central government and the provincial government. It is the world’s largest trade fair for animation films, cartoon publications and cartoon products.
