Cash for old trucks

THE Finance Bureau of Zhejiang Province has recently released the new requirements and subsidy standards for replacing old trucks.
Any owner that replaces a semi-trailer truck of 10 years or older with a new more-efficient model weighing at least 12,000 kilograms is entitled to a subsidy of 18,000 yuan (US$2,945).
The deadline for making an application in Hangzhou is January 31, 2015. It is the second year since Hangzhou initiated the old-truck replacement program, which is designed to reduce air pollution and traffic accidents. It is expected that more than 3 million old trucks will have been scrapped by next year.
