Celebrities brush up on famous artwork
HONG Kong celebrity Andy Lau (second from right) and mainland actress Zhang Jingchu (second from left) were in Hangzhou on Tuesday to promote the film "Switch," which was mainly shot in the city.
The film tells of how a special agent protects the masterpiece "Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains."
The painting, created by master Huang Gongwang (1269鈥1354), was burnt into two pieces in 1650, and today, one piece is kept at the Zhejiang Provincial Museum in Hangzhou, while the other part is held by the Palace Museum in Taipei.
The two pieces were collected and exhibited in Taiwan two years ago, and the film is based on the news.
Many famous Hangzhou locations appear in the film, including West Lake, Xixi Wetland and Qianjiang New Town.
Also, 12 figure sculptures were created by 12 Chinese sculptors for the film shoot, providing echoes the painting. These were donated to Zhejiang Art Museum on Tuesday.
