Cisco coming to city
CISCO Systems Inc, the world’s largest maker of computer networking equipment, said last week it plans to set up its China headquarters in Hangzhou.
It will be the first headquarters of a Fortune Global 500 company in Hangzhou and in Zhejiang Province.
Cisco signed a framework agreement with the Hangzhou government on “Smart City” construction in Shangcheng District. Hangzhou Mayor Zhang Hongming and Chuck Robbins, senior vice president of Worldwide Field Operations for Cisco, spoke to the media after the signing.
The “Smart City” project will bring many development opportunities and a lot of market potential to Hangzhou as the city strives to become a leader in China in IT infrastructure and Smart City management, the mayor said.
