City's inflation rises
HANGZHOU'S consumer price index in June rose 2.7 percent from a year earlier, the Statistics Bureau of Hangzhou reported this week. However, it decreased by 0.1 percent from May.
The price of shrimp and crab dropped 9.4 percent year on year, though the prices of some food items rose. Pork, eggs and vegetables rose 4.6 percent, 5.2 percent and 2.7 percent from a year earlier, respectively.
The price of industrial consumer goods was stable, but the price of service items rose 3.8 percent given the increasing cost of rent and labor.
The price of entertainment and education climbed by 4.6 percent, officials reported.
