Closed for road work
Wenyi Road W. will be closed for one year of reconstruction work starting Friday.
The thoroughfare between Zijinhua Road and Zijingang Road will be closed to traffic except vehicles belonging to families and organizations in the area.
Road barriers will be installed to prevent vehicles from turning left onto Wen’er Road W. Yuanjue Road will be turned into a one-way, south-bound street.
During reconstruction, a section of Zijingang Road will be narrowed from six lanes to four. Its bus-only lanes will be open to cars, officials said.
Meanwhile, the fourth phase of the elevated Qiushi Road is now open.
The completion of the six-lane elevated road is expected to ease traffic in Hangzhou as it is one of two north-south expressways in the urban area. When traffic isn’t backed up, it takes only 20 minutes to reach Binjiang District from Gongshu District.
