Collection for guard
RESIDENTS and property management staff in a residential complex in Xiasha District have collected more than 50,000 yuan to donate to the family of a security guard killed by five apparently drunken men on Monday night.
"Without him, residents might have been killed," said an elderly man, surnamed Wu, sitting by candles set up to mourn the death. "We must catch the murderers."
He Chunxue, 25, from central China's Henan Province, was on duty at the main entrance of Langshi International Community at around 11:46pm when five men tried to enter the complex.
Video footage showed one of the men was armed with an iron pipe and another man urinating at the square in front of the main entrance.
When He tried to stop them, one of the men pulled out a 40-centimeter knife and stabbed the security guard.
When five other security guards arrived at the scene minutes later, they found He bleeding by the entrance. He died in hospital an hour later.
The dead man has a 15-month-old son in his hometown.
Police said the case is still under investigation.
