Community subsidies
A residential community in western Hangzhou will spend 1 million yuan (US$155,364) a year to subsidize home owners in the next three years.
Langui Garden Home Owner Committee said it will subsidize every household for 60 percent of their property management fees for three years.
The community near the intersection of Wen’er Road W. and Gudun Road has 275 households.
Currently, home owners pay 1.45 yuan per square meter for monthly property management fee, totaling 500,000 yuan a year. The amount of subsidies will be around 300,000 yuan a year.
The home owner committee also announced 10 other benefits for families in the community, including a 200-yuan shopping voucher for use on the National Day, swimming coupons worth 200 yuan, spring outing for retirees, and a 100-yuan gift card for kids on Children’s Day. The community’s 25 property management workers will each receive 2,000 yuan before Chinese New Year plus a 200-yuan lunch subsidy every month.
The home owner committee said they will use income from parking fees and rents from communal properties to fund the welfare program.
