Credit info system
Hangzhou is building its public credit information system by taking five measures, officials said at a national seminar held in the city last week.
The five measures are: adopting a new strategy to break the bottleneck, building an integrated information system, strengthening interdepartmental cooperation, launching the Citizen Credit Status Card, and popularizing the credit information system.
Hangzhou launched a public credit information platform in 2008, which has collected more than 10 million personal files and about 600,000 files of legal persons.
Individuals who break the law will be exposed to the public.
Enterprises involved in dishonest and unlawful activities will be blacklisted and have difficulty obtaining bank loans.
The so-called Citizen Credit Status Card can store personal credit information and be used to accumulate credit points and exchange points for rewards, officials said.
Hangzhou will step up punishment of illegal acts and increase rewards for honest individuals and organizations. Volunteer service and donating blood will add points to a person’s credit file. Third-party agencies will be invited to evaluate a person or an origination’s credit status.
