Design Intelligence Award

The 2018 Design Intelligence Award Ceremony and DIA Gold Creative Week will be held from May 6 to 10 in Nanshan campus of the China Academy of Art.
After seeking global entries from September 2017 to January 2018, this year the organizer received 7,721 pieces of work from 41 countries and regions, covering categories from cultural products, daily necessities to industrial equipment and high-edge technologies.
Around 650 pieces were shortlisted in the first round of assessment, evaluated by 19 international judges coming from industry and academia around the globe.
In March this year the second-round review was held in Hangzhou with 151 works listed in final top 100. And 42 of them, from 13 countries and regions, will compete in May for the final awards and a total prize pool of 6.5 million yuan (US$1.03 million).
Apart from the awarding ceremony, a series of events will be held during that week, including an exhibition showing works from the DIA winners, a trade fair for connecting design with industrial resources, a design industry forum and a seminar on education of industrial design.
The award was initiated by the China Academy of Art in 2015 in the hope of boosting Chinese industrial designs and attracting design talent and excellent design projects.
