Hangzhou government rolled out 10 policies this week to boost domestic demand. They cover tourism, catering and new energy cars.
The city will distribute 100,000 tourist bonus cards in October. Cardholders can enjoy a 10 percent discount for anything they purchase in designated Hangzhou retailers until year’s end.
Large office buildings downtown will get a start-up fund of 150,000 yuan (US$24,311) each to operate a lunch canteen for white-collar workers.
Individuals who buy a new energy car or a locally made car will be able to enjoy certain incentives that will be spelled out by the Hangzhou Commerce Bureau.
The policies will be valid until September 30 of next year.
In the first half of this year, retail sales in Hangzhou reached 160.52 billion yuan, up 13.1 percent from a year earlier.
