Domestic product boost
The 2017 gross domestic product of Binjiang District is set to surpass the 100 billion yuan (US$15 billion) landmark, according to a plenary congress of the district committee of the Communist Party of China.
It would be the first time the district has hit that mark, which also represents a growth of around 13 percent over 2016. The district has witnessed annual double digit increases in its GDP over the past decade. The IT industry income soared 33 percent to 260 billion yuan, as Binjiang is the base for headquarters of Alibaba Group, Netease and Hikvision.
The fiscal income for 2017 jumped 22.1 percent to 28.73 billion yuan.
