Drivers look for love

THE company that operates bus route No. 51 has put personal ads for five drivers on its buses in an effort to help them find wives.

The ads show the drivers’ names, ages, heights and weights, assets such as real estate and cars, and their requirements for a spouse.

Because the buses ply the route from Wushan Square to the Tomb of Yue Fei on the West Lake, with stops in Changqiao and Su Causeway, the ads have high exposure.

“All our drivers volunteered to serve as matchmakers for their five colleagues, so they can be happier at work,” said an official with Hangzhou No. 2 Bus Co. The five bus drivers are all male, aged 28 to 42.

“Awoman contacted me after seeing my ad and we’ve got along well for three months,” said Meng Liying, the oldest among the five.
