Drunken phone calls
A 31-YEAR-OLD man was detained last week in Yuhang District for dialing the police hotline 25 times and demanding officers fix his broken television.
The man surnamed Zhao talked slowly on the phone, saying he wanted the police to help repair his television. A receptionist told him he shouldn’t call the police hotline, but Zhao didn’t listen and began to curse. The receptionist hung up. Zhao didn’t stop there and used two mobile phones to dial the 110 hotline a total of 25 times. When police arrived they found he was drunk.
The Anhui Province native works as a waste appliances recycler. He apologized to the officers and said he drank too much liquor and beer with friends the night before.
