Entrepreneurs meet

The 3rd World Convention of Zhejiang Entrepreneurs was held last week in Hangzhou. Discussions focused on the theme 鈥淣ew normal in China鈥檚 economy brings new opportunities.鈥
Xia Baolong, the Party secretary of Zhejiang Province, presented a plate for the newly established Zhejiang Entrepreneurs Association to Jack Ma, founder of Alibaba Group.
Ma was elected chairman of the association while Shen Guojun, chairman of Yintai Group, was elected executive chairman.
Xia said the Zhejiang Entrepreneurs Association should serve as a platform to unite Zhejiang tradesmen at home and abroad.
At the opening ceremony of the convention, 60 investment projects were signed, involving 111.1 billion yuan. Meanwhile, 76 individuals received awards for their outstanding contribution and entrepreneurship.
About 1,600 government officials, businesspeople, and representatives of multinational companies attended the convention.
