Escort motorcycles

THE motorcycles used as part of escorts for visiting foreign leaders, including those in the motorcade of Tanzanian President Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete as he traveled from the airport to central Beijing on Tuesday, were manufactured in Hangzhou.
The motorcycle escort will also be used in the APEC meeting to be held in the capital next month. All 100 motorcycles used by armed police are made by Yuhang-based Zhejiang Chunfeng Power Co, with research and development done independently.
Motorcycle escorts are a top protocol arrangement and a security measure for foreign heads of state or heads of government. China has conducted motorcycle escorts since the founding of the People’s Republic of China in 1949.
