E-shopper gripes up
ONLINE shopping complaints increased by 58 percent last year to 12,470 cases, the Hangzhou Statistics Bureau announced.
The number of complaints from online shoppers accounted for 51 percent of all service-related complaints last year. Telecommunications companies and neighborhood services also drew a lot of complaints.
The bureau said Hangzhou residents spent an average of 571 yuan (US$94) last year on online shopping, up 137 percent over 2012. About 2.3 percent of local residents’ daily expenditures were made online, an increase of 1.2 percentage points.
Garments and shoes accounted for 21.4 percent of all consumer complaints, while mobile phones made up 17.3 percent of the total.
