Hangzhou is using a new termite control method this year to cut the use of pesticides. Residents are urged to call pest-control specialists if they find termites in their houses.
Termites are most active in months from March to July. Local pest-control specialists have killed termites in more than 2,000 homes as of mid-June, equal to the total they visited last year.
The specialists advised residents not to use pesticides or try to kill termites themselves because unprofessional handling will force termites to find new colonies in their residential community.
