Fans of Facebook increase

The number of followers of Hangzhou government official Facebook account rose from 73,844 to 515,344, up 16.74 percent, from February 26 to April 23 after the city government launched a series of cultural activities in Central and Eastern Europe, especially in the Belt and Road countries, to mark the fifth anniversary on the promotion of Hangzhou tourism products overseas.
More than 700 music fans from Romania listened to 鈥淭he Butterfly Lovers,鈥 one of China鈥檚 four great folktales, at the Romanian Art Center, which was part of the Hangzhou Philharmonic Orchestra roadshow in the Belt and Road countries in Central and Eastern Europe from April 14 to 30.
Nearly 100 listeners joined an interactive activity at the main hall of the art center to identify five sounds from Hangzhou: water from the West Lake, boating from Xixi Wetland, bell ringing from Jingci Temple, tea brewing from the China Tea Museum and the sound of weaving machines.
Hangzhou Tourism Commission plans to hold a gala gathering at the Grand Central Terminal in New York on June 16, and famous Chinese pianist Lang Lang has been invited to perform for the global fans there. Hangzhou will also invite 10 online opinion leaders from all over the world to experience culture and tourism products in Hangzhou from June 20 to 26.
