Fireworks time!
THE annual fireworks show synonymous with the West Lake International Expo is being held tomorrow night, with a crowd of more than 80,000 pyrotechnics fans expected. Some 150,000 fireworks will be set off, with 60,000 lighting up the sky from 7:45pm to 8:25pm beside West Lake, and the remainder set off beside the Grand Canal.
Hangzhou government sent around 34,000 free tickets for the show to citizens - including students, construction workers, road cleaners, volunteers and business people.
The fireworks show for the expo has been held every year since 2009.
The government says low polluting fireworks are used at the event.
Visitors can watch the fireworks show from ticket zones or in free areas, including Hubin Road, Beishan Street and Nanshan Road.
West Lake International Expo starts on Saturday and runs until November 3.
