Four Seasons Hotel Hangzhou at West Lake uses natural inspiration to captivate the senses
Autumn is harvest time. It’s also traditionally a time to celebrate that harvest and give thanks for all that we have. With year-end parties around the corner, why not pamper yourself by spending a few days at the Four Seasons Hotel Hangzhou at West Lake?
Open since 2010, the Four Seasons Hotel Hangzhou at West Lake is offering special packages through December to celebrate its fifth anniversary. You and your loved ones are invited to visit Hangzhou for an unforgettable stay at the Four Seasons and join the celebration.
The hotel, nestled amidst an exquisite garden along the shores of West Lake, has 78 guestrooms, five suites and three residential-style villas for families and large parties. In the past five years, the Four Seasons Hotel Hangzhou at West Lake has successfully established itself as a quality destination for both business and leisure travelers due to its highly personalized service and superb facilities.
Through November 14, the Autumn Promotional Package is available for all room types.
For those staying in a Deluxe or Superior room, the package for two persons with a minimum two-night stay starts at 3,855 yuan (US$605) per room, per night. Besides free room upgrade, daily buffet breakfast for two at WL Bistro and the hotel’s fifth anniversary souvenir upon check-in, it also includes one free outdoor garden massage treatment or imperial spa treatment, with the second guest enjoying a 20 percent discount. Boasting a green outdoor setting and Thai massage techniques, the therapist will stretch out every inch of your body and make you feel reenergized.
For those who prefer the lavish villa experience, choose one of the three grand villas at the Four Seasons Hangzhou, starting at 69,888 yuan per villa per night. Through December 31, the Presidential, Ambassador and Governor villa packages include an array of special amenities including a couple’s massage, private barbecue dinner, complimentary laundry service, daily afternoon tea for up to six guests, and one breakfast for six through in-room dining, organized by a private butler on your last night.
The Presidential, Ambassador and Governor villas at Four Seasons Hotel Hangzhou are designed in the distinct jiangnan style of the region. Characterized by pagoda-like peaked roof pavilions linked by walkways through traditional Chinese water gardens, the jiangnan aesthetic encourages a feeling of unity with the environment in an elegantly calm atmosphere sought by emperors and travelers for centuries. Each villa has three floors and covers an area of 920 square meters. They have been beautifully decorated by Bilkey Llinas Design.
As the scorching summer heat fades away, the cooler and dryer autumn weather calls for a different diet. During your stay, you can dine at the hotel’s Jin Sha restaurant for a taste of autumn.
Jin Sha’s dedicated culinary team uses fresh local produce in creating a seasonal menu with an emphasis on stew, meat and seafood. From the scallops with sliced golden melon, to the double-boiled mixed seafood soup in mini winter melon, to the steamed duck with abalone and rice wine sauce, every dish promises to enlighten your palate while providing the nutrients your body needs to stay healthy.
Also as part of the promotional package, WL Bistro buffet is cooking up a barbecue feast. It features a DIY salad bar, teriyaki glazed spring chicken, freshly squeezed fruit juices and a sinfully delicious dessert buffet every Friday and Saturday between 5:30pm and 8pm through November. What’s better than a relaxed, fun barbecue evening with friends and family by scenic West Lake?
For those who enjoy tea, the hotel’s Lobby Lounge offers a serene moment every day between 2pm and 5pm. Drop in for a sip of fine tea while basking in the divine fragrance of osmanthus blossoms. In addition, Suraj Karmakar, pastry chef at Four Seasons Hotel Pudong, Shanghai, is bringing his tasty desserts to Hangzhou in November. Reserve early if you have a sweet tooth.
You are also welcome to celebrate your birthday at the Four Seasons Hangzhou if your birthday happens to fall in October, November or December. The Birthday Banquet Package has numerous perks like a birthday cake (10 lbs), a 10 percent discount on a lunch banquet (6,999 yuan per table, minimum of six tables, 10 persons per table), free parking space for up to 30 cars, one-hour free flow of juice and Chinese tea prior to the event, two-hour free flow of soft-drinks, orange juice, local beer, red wine and Chinese tea during the event and more.
The hotel has designed an extraordinary new check-in experience. Upon arrival the hotel limo will pick you up from the airport or train station and take you straight to West Lake Pier. Then board a traditional Chinese wooden boat. Slowly cruising the willow-fringed waters gives guests a chance to unwind and gaze out at the scenic landscape while the city’s hustle and bustle melts away. Don’t forget to enjoy a fresh pot of Longjing tea.
So why not join one of the many barges skimming the surface of the lake as soon as you arrive in town? It certainly makes for a grand entrance.
