Four new roads

FOUR roads will open to traffic this week.
Three of them are elevated highways, Hangzhou officials said last week. The 6.2-kilometer Qiushi Expressway is near completion after construction began in mid 2012. It runs from Shide Road Overpass to Qingjiang Road Overpass. The elevated road has six lanes.
Donghu Expressway links Dongde Overpass with Jiubao Bridge. Zijingang Road Tunnel connects Wenyi Road and Liuxiang Road. It will enable drivers to save at least 10 minutes from Sandun to Xixi. According to the city’s urban planning officials, Hangzhou will have four north-south thoroughfares and five east-west ones once the new roads open.
