Free noodles

TWO noodle shops on Jianguo Road in downtown Hangzhou are offering sanitation workers a free bowl of noodles plus an apple every day until March 5.
Zhang Chengliang, who owns both shops, said: “Sanitation workers go to work as early as 4am and often don’t eat breakfast. They can come to my shops for a free bowl of noodles.”
When Zhang opened his first noodle shop in 2013 he promised to donate 1 yuan for every bowl of noodles he sold to support the education of needy students. He has donated 140,000 yuan so far, enough to sponsor the education of 175 students in the mountainous areas of Lishui and Quzhou cities in Zhejiang Province. Zhang said his biggest problem now is a temporary shortage of employees during the holiday season.
