Garbage bags

HANGZHOU spent 28 million yuan (US$4.58 million) to buy garbage bags last year, an Urban Management Commission spokesman said last week.
The city introduced garbage sorting in 2010 and more than 700,000 households have joined the program, each receiving 30 garbage bags a month from November to May, and 60 bag monthly for the months of June to October. Last year, the Hangzhou Environment and Sanitation Research Institute spent 9.6 million yuan to advertise garbage sorting.
