HANGZHOU plans to boost downtown green areas to 3 million square meters this year.
Various plants will be planted in parks, residential areas, along rivers and roadsides to meet the target, local greenery officials said last week.
By the end of last year, the city’s urban green area totaled 1.71 million square meters, with a coverage rate of 40.2 percent, according to the greenery authority.
