Hangzhou ranked in top 5

HANGZHOU is ranked fifth in the newest City Brand Development Index Report.
Beijing tops the list with 0.763 points, followed by Shanghai (0.700), Shenzhen (0.597), Guangzhou (0.582) and Hangzhou (0.576). Chongqing, Chengdu, Nanjing, Tianjin and Xi’an rank from the 6th to the 10th.
The report was conducted by the National Academy of Economic Strategy of China Academy of
Social Sciences and Economy and Culture Research Center of Zhejiang University.
“Hangzhou city government has been devoted to developing a city of quality, achieving a high level of brand recognition, and we believe the practice of Hangzhou is a successful example of a city’s brand innovation in China,” said He Chunhui, executive director of Economy and Culture Research Center of Zhejiang University.
