High-speed trains

HANGZHOU will add a high-speed train route to Chengdu, capital of southwest Sichuan Province, starting next month.

Train D2222 will leave Hangzhou East Railway Station at 7:35am and arrive in Chengdu at 10:46pm the same day. The return train D2224 will leave Chengdu East Railway Station at 7:52am and reach Hangzhou at 10:43pm the same day.

Currently trains between the two cities take at least 32 hours. A ticket on the high-speed train will cost around 630 yuan (US$104) for a second-class seat.

Harbin, capital of Heilongjiang Province, is a popular tourist destination in summer and winter. Currently a train trip from Hangzhou to Harbin takes about 43 hours. After July 1, the time will be cut to 30 hours with trains T386 and T387.

The city will also have a new bullet train route to Xiamen, Fujian Province. Train G165 from Beijing will stop at Hangzhou East Railway Station at 2:37pm and reach Xiamen at 9:30pm.
