Huge investment boost

Hangzhou plans to invest 192.2 billion yuan (US$30.03 billion) in 571 projects in 2018, according to a legislators’ meeting in the city recently.
The projects, divided into six aspects, include development platforms, infrastructure, industrial transformation, urban and rural integrated development, environmental protection and public service.
With the investment of 41.9 billion yuan, 26 development platforms will be set up, including Dajiangdong Manufacturing Valley and Xixi Intelligent Heath Valley.
A total of 13.7 billion yuan will be invested in 59 urban and rural projects, including Hangzhou-Huangshan Railway and Lin’an-Jinhua Expressway.
For infrastructure, 57.3 billion yuan will be invested in 71 projects, including the underground of Wenyi Road from Baochu Road to Zijingang Road, renovation of Beitang Road from Genshan Road W. to Desheng Road, the Asian Games Village, the intercity railways from Hangzhou to Fuyang and from Hangzhou to Lin’an, and the construction of Hangzhou South and West railway stations.
Forty-two environmental protection projects will be carried out with investment of 9.2 billion yuan, including the first phase of Zhijiang Sewage Water Plant, the protection of Qingshan Lake and the water source of the lake.
There will be 203 industrial transformation projects, with investment of 41.3 billion yuan in 2018, including AMA platform of Geely Group with annual capacity of 100,000 new-energy cars, Hangzhou International Center, Alibaba Online Merchant Bank and Wushan Square Underground Urban Complex.
An investment 28.8 billion yuan goes into 106 public service projects, including Binjiang District Youngsters’ Activity Center, West Lake University, Hangzhou Olympic Sports Center and Liangzhu Hospital.
