In tune with kids
MUSICIANS from the Philadelphia Orchestra shared their music with children of migrant workers on Saturday, the Children's Day.
Four orchestra members, from Israel, Puerto Rico, the United States and China, performed the folk music of their own countries for the schoolchildren.
The children demonstrated their skills in chorus singing, dance and instrumental music in return.
"We have rehearsed for this exchange for over two months. I really enjoyed hearing the musicians, they played really well," said one migrant student from Binjiang No. 1 Primary School.
The Philadelphia Orchestra visited China in 1973, at the invitation of the late US president Richard Nixon.
The orchestra performed in Hangzhou last Friday night in an event to mark the 40th anniversary of its first visit to China.
