THE per capita disposable income of Hangzhou residents rose to 37,538 yuan (US$5,958) last year, up 10.2 percent from 2011. That of rural residents increased 11.6 percent to 17,017 yuan.
The city's retail sales of consumer goods jumped 15.5 percent to 294 billion yuan last year.
Hangzhou planned for an 11 percent rise in per capita disposable income for urban residents and a 12 percent rise for rural residents to narrow their income gap. The actual growth rates were marginally lower.
