Income rises
Per capita income of Hangzhou’s urban residents increased 8.7 percent while it jumped 9.6 percent for those living in the city’s rural areas in the first three quarters of this year, the city’s statistics bureau said.
The bureau said online shopping jumped 28.3 percent year on year to 71.28 billion yuan (US$11.23 billion) in the first three quarters, while the city’s GDP grew 10.2 percent to 710 billion yuan.
The service sector generated 58.2 percent of the city’s GDP, 4.3 percentage points more than the same period of last year.
The technology sector achieved business turnover of 200.8 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 44.1 percent.
Hangzhou’s air quality also improved this year with 80.2 percent of the days meeting the PM2.5 standard.
