Alibaba-backed Ant Financial Services, together with Bosera Asset Management Co, Shanghai Gildata Service Inc and China Securities Index Co Ltd announced the launch earlier this month of the country鈥檚 first e-commerce-linked financial index.
The CSI Taojin Big Data 100 Index is designed to track real-time online sales and transaction results extracted by Gildata Services from 100 top e-commerce companies across a variety of industries.
Index components will be adjusted monthly to reflect the latest industry trends. Components in most other major financial indices, including the CSI 300, are adjusted every six months.
Bosera Fund will launch two mutual funds tied to the new index later this month. Investors can subscribe to these funds through Alipay鈥檚 financial product channels as well as Taobao鈥檚 mutual fund selling platform.
