InterContinental offers style, variety

HANGZHOU was the capital of China during the Southern Song Dynasty (1127-1279), but today it is known as a leisure and tourist destination.
Situated along the West Lake, the city is known for its beautiful scenery and sightseeing spots.
The city is also transforming at an incredible pace with a strong emphasis on the quality of life while retaining its identity as one of the country's cultural capitals.
There is strong cooperation between the city government, tourism commission and the hotel association to bring more international guests, meetings, conferences and companies to Hangzhou. The infrastructure is improving with the expanded international airport and high-speed train connections to Shanghai, Beijing, Ningbo, Zhejiang Province and Xiamen, Fujian Province.
The newly opened InterContinental Hangzhou, also known as the Sun of Hangzhou, is one of the latest landmarks in the city. In Qianjiang New City, the hotel is surrounded by the latest shopping, housing complexes and parks. The hotel is based at the new city center of Hangzhou and with its golden color and round shape looks like a big golden ball. Opposite the hotel is the new opera house, which is designed in the shape of the moon.
The InterContinental features the International Conference Center, which contains 26 meeting rooms. This includes a pillar-less ballroom measuring 1,800 square meters, complete with the latest in audio-video equipment.
