The man-made Jiusha River flowing almost 6 kilometers in the eastern part of Hangzhou completed construction recently after four years’ work.

The canal runs parallel to Desheng Elevated Road before joining the Qiantang River. Its main function is to divert floodwater.

Workers are building a 6,600-meter jogging path along the canal which will be put to use later this year.

Hangzhou
