Key projects listed
THE Hangzhou government has published a list of key projects for 2013. Industrial restructuring and upgrading projects top the list.
The 179 projects include the construction of the Hubin Global Brand Street near the West Lake and a Ford plant in the Qianjin Industrial Zone.
On the list are 53 infrastructure projects. These include the extension of Metro Line 1; the second phase of Metro Line 2 and Line 4; and the transport hub of Hangzhou East Railway Station.
And work will begin on a 5-meter-wide, 56-kilometer-long cycling and jogging roadway next month, linking Qiandao Lake Tourist Wharf with Fenkou Town. The scenic route will delight cyclists and trekkers, say officials.
Meanwhile, work will also start this year on the Hangzhou-Huangshan Railway. Once complete, trains will be able to travel from Hangzhou to the city of Huangshan in Anhui Province, at the foot of the Yellow Mountain, in less than 90 minutes.
