Line 4 blueprint
THE Hangzhou government recently published a blueprint for Metro Line 4 and its 18 stations.
The new subway will run from Puyan Road Station in Binjiang District to Pengbu Station in Jianggan District. It will have transfer points on both line 1 and 2.
Line 4 will connect to Line 1 at Jinjiang Station, Pengbu Station and East Railway Station and intersect Line 2 at Qianjiang Road Station. Eventually, it will connect with lines 5, 6, 7 and 9.
All 18 stations are underground and the 20.8-kilometer subway will cost 14.35 billion yuan to build. Officials said construction of both Line 4 and the second phase of Line 2 are expected to begin this year.
The first phase of Line 4, between Pengbu and Jinjiang stations, is scheduled for completion in 2015.
