Link to Huangshan

The construction of a 265-kilometer railway linking Hangzhou with Huangshan, a city at the foot of the scenic Yellow Mountain, is expected to start later this year as the second environmental evaluation on the project has been published for public review.

When the railway is put into service five years from now, people from Hangzhou will be able to reach Huangshan in one and a half hours. The new rail is also expected to boost economic development along the way.

The 36.7 billion yuan railway will have 10 stations in Zhejiang and Anhui provinces — Hangzhou East, Hangzhou South, Fuyang, Tonglu, Jiande, Chun’an, Sanyang, Shexian, Jixi and Huangshan North.

The new railway will also offer tourists from Shanghai, Ningbo and Nanjing easy access to the Yellow Mountain, Qiandao Lake and Fuchun River.
