The Hangzhou West Lake Scenic Area Management Commission announced this week that all the 30 high-end clubs around West Lake have been shut down.

Those clubs around West Lake were known for their lavish decorations and expensive banquets.

City authorities will close all luxury clubs around West Lake and in other historical sites to open the locations to average citizens.

Officials said they will not approve new luxury establishments in the scenic areas.
