Medical reform
Hangzhou will spend 146 million yuan (US$21.39 million) on healthcare reform in the next two years following a meeting last week to discuss upgrading basic medical services and enlarging the range of medicare.
"Medical reform is a non-stop process and we should pay more attention to provide better service to local people," said Huang Kunming, Party secretary of Hangzhou.
This year, 530 medical service centers will be built in rural areas. The government plans to train 250 general practitioners and 300 community nurses.
