Messi autograph

A ball autographed by Argentine soccer star Lionel Messi is among the items being auctioned for charity in Xiaoshan District. A porcelain vase made by famous ceramic artist Chen Songxian, some Japanese handcrafts and FIFA World Cup mascots are also going under the hammer.
The mascots will have starting prices between 30 yuan and 160 yuan. The starting price for Messi’s autographed soccer ball is 10,000 yuan. The porcelain vase will sell at a minimum of 60,000 yuan.
Chen is one of the first members of the International Academy of Ceramics and the head of the Zhejiang Ceramic Artist Association.
All proceeds will be donated to help 15-year-old boy Hu Fengyi receive medical treatment for a rare condition that makes him unable to perspire or feel pain.
The auction items can be viewed at the Zhejiang Charity Foundation’s website (www.axcs.cn). People interested can bid via phone to (0571) 8539-5063 or 8971-0106 before July 25. The foundation has received more than 10,000 yuan in donations for the boy so far.
