Metro adds signs
Signs pointing to bus stops, landmark buildings and hotels around the Wulin Square Station of Hangzhou’s Metro were put up this week. Workers will change maps in all Metro stations with new ones that mark bus stops within a radius of 400 meters from the stations. This is part of the Metro’s response to passenger complaints about a lack of directional signs, short operating hours and odor from toilets inside Metro stations. Directional signs will also be put up at subway stations at East Railway Station, Hangzhou Railway Station, Longxiang Bridge and the Sightseeing Bus Terminal. Metro officials also plan to extend service hours to 10:30pm next year. Operating hours are extended to 10:30pm only on Monday through Thursday beginning this month.
